I respect poetry so much because it does what I cannot do - say so much with so little.
When I have something Much to say, it takes me just as many words to say it. I say it with words that are each of them bland and common, unimaginative by their lonesome, with the hopes that if I stack so many together and squeeze a single drop of Much from each that it might flow into something meaningful.
When I have something to say, I say it twice. I say it three times. Because the first or second may not have captured the point. Because I do not trust myself to express the full essence saying it just once. Like just now, those last two sentences. I’ll repeat myself a third time for good measure - because I do not say it right just once or twice.
Poems say things in only a half, only a quarter. They choose single words worth more than ten of mine. I want to know how their minds shop for words. I want to distill myself like poets do. I want to trade in all my too many common words for the way they use an extraordinary few.
If I keep writing this, I’ll write it forever. I’ll explain myself again, as I have already, as I’m doing now. With more and different other words, with the hope of saying myself fully, like how all the hatched and messy wanton scribbles from a pen might finally color in a page. I want to change that. I want to not rip the page I’ve oversaturated by the tip of my pen.
I’ll start tomorrow, maybe, to explain myself less.
I wanted to create a curved sofa as a bit of a challenge from an image I found on pinterest (like usual) and ended up with the set you see above. I get modern but a bit of a retro vibe from this design and I surprisingly love it in pink. Another great sofa collection to add to my ever expanding catalogue of living room seating. Will I stop? Probably not.

Nifty Knitting Buymode Expanded - 20 New or Edited Objects
Courtesy of EA Game Changers, I managed to get early access to the Community-voted Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack. Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances I didn’t manage to get a review up about what I thought or the potential for addons in the future, so I decided to go ahead and skip a few other packs to get this out of the way (I will be revisiting other more complex packs later). I really loved the premise that a lot of the items are crafted by the sims, but because of that the catalogue felt rather emptier then it actually is. So i decided to do a modest buymode addon to add a few things I felt would add more usability, and fix a few things that bugged me. What I ended up with was 20 new or edited items. Some decor made from the crafted items (minus the knitted aspects), furniture, separated decor, and I decided to de-chunkify the rocking chairs to reflect my tastes. All non-default so you can mix and match with the rest of the items. I am also looking into a buildmode addon too, but we shall see how that goes.
Rock’n Rockers - A Collection of 12 Rocking Chairs
When Nifty Knitting came out, the item I was most excited about was the rocking chair. The design wasn’t my cup of tea, but the possibilities it brought to the game was something I couldn’t ignore. So I went about investigating the tuning to see whether or not it was added to the basegame. To my surprise, it wasn’t pack-exclusive (hinting at the possibility that Maxis could add more down the line), meaning I could make some chairs that would be able to work for those with updated games (pre-Nifty Knitting patch) but didn’t require the pack. I love when new furniture types are added to basegame, just like the 6 seat round table. Anyway, i got carried away and came up with 12 new designs to give people a bit more variety. Grandma is going to be one stylish rocked in these babies!
Stone Floor & Wall Tiles - Chevron and Field Designs
These designs came to me while making Hudson bathroom. I have played around with trying to make chevron tiles before, but they just didn’t come out quite right. This attempt actually did. I Then decided to include a simpler field tile because too much chevron can be over the top. So this turned into a mini-set in itself and now it’s ready to share with all you lovers of tiles.
Country Crafter - Nifty Knitting-Inspired Buildmode Set
A brand new year, and a brand new set of buildmode items to share. Nifty Knitting was one of the more enjoyable SPs to come out in recent memory, and also a treasure trove of content ripe for expansion. I started this while working on the Buymode Addon but was set back when I decided to add more colours to the set which required me remaking all the package files and generating all the new textures. But it’s done now and I think it helps fill the void for those looking for a more classic but simple window set who don’t have the similar Quaint Cottage Set I made for Get Famous. This will work outside of the Pack and stands on it’s own as a great versatile set. I also went overboard with the number of door variations, but I don’t care LOL
I haven’t had this much fun with a stuff pack in quite a while, and was really inspired to add more content. I came up with 20 edits for items I wanted (or altered) and really happy with the outcome. Some just make sense (like the large vase being shrunk and slottable) to wants (really wanted a bedframe) to making things a bit more appealing (sulani palm leaves version of potted palm). Overall, i think it makes an already great stuff pack better, at least in my opinion.
Cozy Knits Bedding - Luxurious Bedding in 30 Knitted Options
I really loved the knitted pattern from the CL bed, but thought the texture was way too large. So I scaled it down and couldn’t figure out what to do with it until recently. I really love how these came out, and now I have another textured option for my bedding, in all sizes.
Eco Lifestyle Timber Flooring Expanded - 6 New or Edited Flooring Options
Highly requested (and something I missed which I usually do after a pack release) was recolouring the Eco Lifestyle flooring. I didn’t do just that, I thought it was a missed opportunity not having the Upcycled timber walls as a flooring too, so I made it so in both original colour, and my recoloured version. I also took the hexagon timber and made a smaller version which I think will be great for smaller rooms like bathrooms. These are also in the original colour options plus the regular and small in my recolours. There is no such thing as too many flooring options.
I had this idea for a country bedroom which sprung up from a wardrobe I had intended to go with a now scrapped set. With Cottage Living announced, I decided to move it off the back burner and finish it as i felt that it would work great for the pack. With a few additions including some lovely floral bedding, it’s finally ready for me to use in my gameplay save.
After Dream Home Decorator came out I knew that everyone who asked me to make a sectional would come knocking on my door saying “you said you would make a sectional if Maxis made one!” I am a man of my word and this is my first proper sectional utilising the new system. I will do more, but I will not solely make these as I still prefer the traditional seating and it’s proportions. So don’t expect a lot of these from me, there are some drawbacks and they require a different, more time-consuming process to ensure they look ‘right’ to me. It’s nice to have another option though, and opens up more possibilities in the future.
So before I made the Shinning Peaks bed frame, I created a version of what you now see before you! This frame is from scratch and comes in five metallics shades from the @peacemaker-ic Lustrous Metals palette. The design features a chevron like design on both sides.
